About 30 Years ago my life changed forever. I remember it like it was yesterday. After graduating from Elmhurst College in 1981 with a business degree, I landed a job in sales for an industrial equipment company. It required long hours on 5the phone, lots of time in the car, and the occasional sleeping on strange beds.
I began to develop pain between my shoulder blades and my right hand began to go numb. So I switched to using my left hand and that started to go numb too.
I couldn't sleep due to the pain. I couldn't even carry a cup of coffee or shake hands. Drugs didn't help; stretching didn't help. It was affecting my job. I was getting desperate fro relief.
My brother suggested I try chiropractic. The chiropractor did an exam, took some x-rays and then "adjusted" my spine. The adjustment felt good. I got relief and could use my hands again. It worked so well that I went to chiropractic school myself, graduating from the national College of Chiropractic in 1989.
It's strange how life is, because now people come to me with their headaches, migraines, chronic pain, neck and back pain, whiplash, numbness, athletic injuries, asthma and allergies; just to name a few.
I am grateful that I'm able to help them, just like I was helped by my chiropractor.
